He may have a point when it comes to a lot of the positions in his company that are responsible for most things dealing with physical products, such as product design, proof of concepts, mechanical engineering, and massive amounts of research and development.

However, his company most likely has just as many, if not more, roles that don’t require sitting in a lab or consuming space in an office cubicle, such as IT, HR, e-commerce, sales and marketing, etc. As we’ve explained in previous posts, workers can efficiently perform these job roles anywhere in the world and be just as productive as his precious lab coat minions.
