Why Does Cubicle Pink Slip Exist?

I started this site to help others who desire to work remotely, instead of the typical office cubicle that almost every corporation forces you to drag yourself to daily. It can be difficult to figure out how to transition to a remote work lifestyle. Hopefully this site can be a go-to resource for those who are trying to navigate the path to a remote career or a home-based business.

What Makes Me an Authority on Remote Work?

I’ve worked in the IT industry for over 20 years. So, I’ve spent quite a bit of time behind a keyboard, hence the name Jay “QWERTY”. Over half of those years, I’ve spent countless hours in dangerous traffic, tons of money on gas, car wear & tear, and re-arranging my life all to occupy a 6’x6’ (if I was lucky) area of commercial real estate performing work that I could literally do from almost anywhere in the world.

The one thing that I would look forward to each week was that one day that MOST companies (definitely not all) would allow me to work from home. Eventually I was able to land a job that was fully remote and later even starting my own home-based business.

As I mentioned before, finding this type of job isn’t exactly easy. However, after COVID interrupted everything, companies have embraced the idea of working remotely a lot more since many were forced to do so for a period of time.

Due to this new open-minded thinking of the corporate world, I’m hoping you can use this site to educate yourself on what’s needed to land one of these jobs and familiarize yourself on the whole lifestyle of working remotely. If nothing pans out for you, there are plenty of home-based business opportunities to leverage your skill set in providing a remote work lifestyle for yourself.

Whatever path to remote work that you decide to take, there’s no better feeling than the day you write-up that pink slip and FIRE YOUR CUBICLE!
